Thank you for attending our session at the VAIS Technology Conference!

Below you will find the links and resources further detailing our presentations.

POLL EVERYWHERE

Poll Everywhere allows teachers to poll up to 40 students for free. What a great way to review on a topic you just covered in class! However, to utilize it in class, you must allow students to use their cell phones. Although this may be a subject some may not want to mention, it may be inevitable. Cell phones can be used in a multiple of ways, Poll Everywhere just being one. Click on these links to find out more information...

QR CODES

Also known as Quick Response Codes. QR codes are showing up everywhere, from a box of donuts to the fast food drive thru. So how can they be utilized in the classroom?
1. Teachers can "advertise" their class website and post it on their classroom door 2. Students can participate in a scavenger hunt 3. Use it in a presentation to link to another website or survey

The possibilities are endless.

EDMODO

Our presentation was about moving our middle school into the 21st century using the web based program www.edmodo.com. This is a safe and secure social networking site that allows teachers to post assignments and assessments. It is a great way to keep in touch with out students throughout the entire day. If they are unsure about assignments, they can post questions and receive feedback and answers immediately either from the teacher or their peers. Students are able to take responsibility to complete these assignments either at school or at home. They must be focused on the task because they cannot re-do the assessment. Of course, if the teacher feels they need to review and retake, that is always possible in another form.
