Sullins MATHCOUNTS Success

This weekend, six Sullins Academy middle school students traveled to Lynchburg, VA to compete in the regional Mathcounts Competition. Sydney H., Jackson O., and Samuel S. represented Sullins in the team competition. Joy B., Evan D., and Aiden F. competed individually. Our young team did well and Jackson will now have the opportunity to compete at the State competition in March!

These students have been studying and practicing for the last 12 weeks and competed against 135 other schools. Sullins had the only middle school team competing from Bristol.

“The MATHCOUNTS Foundation is an organization that provides engaging math programs to U.S. middle school students of all ability levels in order to build confidence and improve attitudes towards math and problem solving.” (mathcounts.org)
